  • Provide Family Guide Notebooks for families dealing with the child welfare system to help keep all of their court and case plan documents together.

  • To enable to provide meals and child care for parent meetings, support groups & trainings.
  • To provide incentives for parents attending trainings, meetings & support groups.
  • To provide incentives for youth attending youth trainings.
  • Provide gas cards to volunteer transporters.
  • Provide gift cards at time of need to KFAN's clients.

Mission

Kansas Family Advisory Network (KFAN) promotes the restoration of families in Southeast Kansas through support, education, advocacy, and trainings. 

Profile

  • To provide Support, Education, Advocacy and Training opportunities to to at risk families interacting with the child welfare system, all families involved or not involved in the child welfare system, and for kinship caregivers raising other relatives' children.
  • To establish, engage, support, sustain and include the family voice and family involvement in child welfare.
  • To provide families who are seeking assistance and/or desire to improve their family's well-being through prevention services.
  • To seek out opportunities to collaborate and partner with child welfare practitioners and community partners who aspire to positively improve the lives of families in the community.
  • To incorporate the six guiding principles from the Family Centered Systems of Care (Youth and Family Involvement, Individualized Strength-based Care, Cultural Competence, Interagency Collaboration, Community Based Services and Accountability).
  • To promote opportunities of engagement, support, collaborations and partnerships among birth parents and other caregivers and resources, including but not limited to foster parents, adoptive parents, relatives/kin, child welfare services, social service practitioners, law enforcement, court services, policy makers and society at large.
  • To provide resources to families that encompass the whole person—Mentally, emotionally and spiritually including the opportunity to speak to a chaplain.
