Coffeyville Aviation Heritage Museum

Specific Need

2025 – 2026 will be the year of Aviation Education. We are introducing our new Educational Center providing a variety of educational opportunities. Educational opportunities such as traveling exhibits, like NASA, with 2000+ in attendance and Rise Above exhibit (Tuskegee Airmen and WASPS), with 1000+ in attendance and was coordinated with the Coffeyville Municipal Airport. Historic re-enactments of Wilber Wright and Amelia Earhart have been popular.  Next year we plan to meet Octave Chanute “The Father of Aviation”

A 52 foot visual mural honoring Aviation history in Coffeyville was completed within the museum by artist Mike DeRosa. 2025 match day funds helped secure this historic mural.

Reintroduction of the Funk Fly-in is a priority.  The fly-in is scheduled for June of 2026, with a Vultee BT-13 Valiant being featured.  The Valiant was utilized for pilot training at the Coffeyville Army Air Base during WWII.
