Specific Need

The Coffeyville Regional Medical Center Foundation seeks your help to purchase a new ambulance and an emergency transport vehicle which will replace two obsolete ambulances in the CRMC EMS fleet that are more than 15 years old and have exceeded 250,000 miles. The cost for these two new emergency vehicles is $596,000.

New emergency vehicles will help CRMC EMS:

• Improve response times, resulting in better patient outcomes.
• Provide reliable ambulance service on local calls.
• Ensure timely and safe transfer of patients to larger hospitals.
• Reduce stress on EMTs and paramedics.

Did you know…

• CRMC EMS is owned and operated by the hospital. CRMC is responsible for more than 75% of EMS operating expenses. This includes the purchase of emergency vehicles.  
• The CRMC EMS service area includes three counties, covers more than 434 square miles and serves more than 60,000 residents.
• To ensure complete coverage and guarantee fast response times, CRMC EMS must keep four vehicles ready to respond at a moment’s notice.
• CRMC EMS retires an ambulance and purchases a new one every three to four years.
• Each year, CRMC EMS transfers more than 350 patients to larger regional hospitals for higher levels of care. 
• Transfer runs can require CRMC EMS vehicles to travel more than 350 miles round trip.

Mission

The mission of the CRMC Foundation is to provide support and financial assistance to Coffeyville Regional Medical Center to achieve and maintain excellence as a healthcare provider and leader for the community served.

Profile

Coffeyville Regional Medical Center is a municipal, non-profit hospital serving seven counties in southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma. It is the only full-service hospital in Montgomery County. Many patients also travel from neighboring counties to seek care at CRMC. The physicians and staff at CRMC take great pride in providing many of the same services as hospitals in larger cities. Patients can get the care they need close to home, eliminating the need for travel. In 2024, total patient visits to CRMC and its clinics exceeded 66,000.

Coffeyville Regional Medical Center services include: 24/7 ER, Primary Care, Women’s Health (including Labor and Delivery), Cancer Treatment Services (Radiation and Medical Oncology), Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, EMS Ambulance Service, General Surgery, Acute Inpatient Care, Swing Bed Nursing, Laboratory, Orthopedic Services/Surgery, Pain Management, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, and Business/Industry Services.

The CRMC Medical Group is an important extension of the hospital. Clinics in Coffeyville and Independence provide primary care and specialty services to patients of all ages. The providers include one full-time OB/GYN physician, one Family Practice physician and four nurse practitioners.

CRMC has been dedicated to its patients since 1949. As other hospitals have closed, CRMC streamlined its services and developed specialties to ensure that quality healthcare is available in Montgomery County for years to come.

CRMC’s position as a non-profit, municipal hospital provides the freedom to make decisions that are best for patients and staff. At the same time, the non-profit status keeps margins small and the budget for new facilities and equipment even smaller.
